This initiative was started by the Mairie de Paris, and is localized in all 20 districts in Paris. The initiative was started to increase the biodiversity in Paris while allowing individual residents to become actors of this process. The document specifies that residents must acquire authorization to grow plants in public spaces. The content of this document follows an initiative that was created by the municipality of Paris that can be found in this link (https://www.paris.fr/duvertpresdechezmoi). In addition, the list of species of plants that are accepted by the government are specified in this document. This charter has a legal status, and therefore citizens have the right and the access to use the legal tools available to pursue direct action on the initiative. The initiative was started on the 30th of June, 2015, and is an ongoing process.
